Medical coding is a little bit like translation. A medical coder is someone in an administrative position within the healthcare industry. They are responsible for translating details from a patient’s medical documents into medical codes to ensure the patient’s records are accurate. These documents may include physician’s notes, lab reports, procedures, diagnoses, or equipment.
